NEW GRANDSON ARRIVES

Our new grandson Gabriel is here, arriving at 5:03 am today . I talked to mom and she said everything went really fast and she is glad he is here. He weighed 9# 2 oz and is 20" long. I will be going to see him on Sat...................YEA I AM GRANDMA AGAIN!

Day 2, 3 & 4 of Lamp Process

I had to order more glass but while I waited I made a little progress.

I finished all the pink for form A and started the blue background

Here's the close up so you can see the detail. Now remember I have to make 3 of every piece all exactly the same so they will fit into the pattern.

While I was working tonite I got shocked by my grinder..........I decided I needed to quit and maybe tomorrow I will look into my grinder to see what the problem is...............I am thinking water got into my switch which caused it to spark................hmmmm this is not good.

I HAVE BEEN INVITED TO DO A NEW SHOW!

I recieved an email yesterday from a lady who manages a show here in Okanogan County. She has seen my work and has asked me to consider doing the 2009 Spring Fair Home and Garden Show in Okanogan. WOW I am honored to be considered for the show, most of these shows are very hard to get into. Your items are judged and voted on to meet the requirements to attend.
This lady had recieved a piece of my art as a gift and started asking questions about who made it, and thats how she found me.

So I now have a show to do on March 20 - 22 and I am so excited.....................Wish me luck everyone... I just might be an artist someday......

2009 The Starting of A Tiffany Lamp

Ok, I have discussed it , bought the patterns, collected the glass and now its time to start. I have all the pieces cut and sorted. I have picked out the glass to use and I have started my Tiffany Lamp. So keep following the blog and you will see my progress as I move along from day to day.

I have chosen to do the water lily by HL Worden, the molds you see are 1/4 of the pattern so that mean I have to cut every piece 3 times. This pattern has 390 pieces total. I know I am ready for the challenge, so here we go...

What to do?

Yesterday I had a visitor come to my studio to check things out. She wanted to take classes from me and to see what kind of work I do. No problem, so I showed her around and discussed what my classes involve and she said "oh, Yes " I would love to take lessons from you. So then she asked me what I am selling and I told her all the things that are hanging in my studio, so she walked over to the Seattle Mariners piece and before I could tell her that one is not for sale she offered me 600.00 for it. Oh my gosh, I had to really think about it but I told her not that one because I had make it for someone as a gift, so she said well thats ok I will learn to do this hobby and I will make one myself. I said ok, (knowing it has taken me years to get to this point of making these types of panels). I am sure that she will make me an offer to make her one as she really wanted it.
I found it to be an honor that she thought so much of my work that she would offer me such a price. Besides I can't sell it because I already promised it to someone.

So Scott if you are reading this you really are lucky that it is still here.

Seattle Mariners in Glass

Finished and waiting for the new owner.................................What a job this one was. 80 + hours and I think I used every saw in my shop to get just the right cut. It measures 25.5" and is one of my best pieces to date. I am very proud of the way it turned out and I pray that it fits were my son want to put it.
